Seeds of Cherry tomatoes in Krasnodar area, 2011.

At Krasnodar Exhibition "SouthAgro-2010" at the end of November 2010 we met with cute boys, enthusiastically engaged in the cultivation of tomatoes in Belorechensk Krasnodar region. They explained their interest in our hybrids, the proximity of the resort, where increasingly large demand for tomatoes pink and orange color, and varied in form and color of the cherry tomatoes. Maxim and Elena Peresypkin interested in hybrids from seed which can grow delicious, beautiful and healthy fruit. To begin, we advised them to try to grow a small amount of our already well-known hybrids: F1 Cherry Ira, F1 Cherry Myo and F1 Cherry Kira. In addition to these, we offered seeds of tomato novelties - F1 Cherry Rosa, F1 Cherry Maksik, F1 Cherry Lycopa, F1 Forte Mare and F1 Forte Maltese. And here are the first good news: in mid-March, tomato bushes began to give commodity products and we were invited to see the test results.

Trip to Belorechensk was necessary also because positive emotions from the first this year good results allow us to more confidently recommend that hybrids of these cherry tomatoes to our customers beyond the Urals and Siberia, and to all growers in Russia and CIS, growers of tomatoes in a variety of conditions. Until this year, cherry, mainly grown in the soil, sand and peat, but now we know that they grow well in small-volume culture on mineral wool. Maxim, with his characteristic energy, tried to grow an early crop, and this despite a number of problems associated with the development of a new substrate, he succeeded. The results of the past and this season showed that the F1 Cherry Kira, F1, F1 Cherry Ira and F1 Cherry Mio can be successfully grown in different conditions and to obtain very high quality and tasty crops. We had doubts - can the fruit in the winter type, color and good taste? Doubts vanished - gorgeous color, flavor and aroma - great! And most importantly - it is not imported, to lie down 15-20 days production, and local and fresh, very flavorful and attractive. Under the existing arrangement Maxim sells its products through a local supermarket, and I think that the problems with implementing it will not.
Maxim and Elena in the winter-spring back convincingly proved that the cherry can be grown in a more dense plantings with no noticeable decrease in quality. Note - this is clearly seen in the photo: the mineral matrix instead of the two plants were planted 4. Twofold increase in stocking density had no effect on the yield of fruits. By the way, the quality of seed claims were not, germination and vigor of seeds of all hybrids was good.
Maxim evaluated from his point of view, we propose hybrid cherry and said that in the first place, he would put the hybrid F1 Cherry Kira, the second - a hybrid F1 Cherry Ira, the third - F1 Cherry Mio, who is not inferior in yield and taste, but more slowly in the early spring conditions, gaining color of the fruit.

So, over the past 2 years we have tried different options of growing cherry tomatoes, found that they can grow in different areas and on different substrates, almost do not get sick, the fruit does not burst, the organoleptic properties of fruits are excellent. There were doubts about the level of productivity, but we do, and growers have convincingly shown that the yield of cherry tomato is only slightly inferior to the average tomato fruits, and bif-tomatoes, and the sales price, earliness, high marketability and a good keeping quality is more than offset the slight loss of crops. For example, in late March, Maxim has formed on the plant to espalier 12 brushes (2 brushes have been lost due to violations of Technology), the average weight of one brush - 300-350 grams. Hence, with one plant for the first shortened turnover will be taken 3,6-4,2 kg, and could potentially take up to 5 kg. At this stocking density can talk about the average yield of 15 to 20 kg/m2. Is this a bad harvest and possible financial results? The cost of 1 kg of cherry in supermarkets from 280 to 350 rubles. And large-fruited tomatoes there are 140-200 rubles.
We recommend growers to grow our hybrid cherry tomatoes, which are undemanding in terms of production and are resistant to disease, and greenhouse growers recommend that you look closely at this group of tomatoes, as well as cocktail and carpal hybrids. In the face of fierce competition wins the one who can offer diverse and high quality products, not "plastic" tomatoes, filling the shelves of our shops and markets.

P.S. We are grateful to visitors of our site for information about our hybrid cherry tomatoes, and are willing to provide information support to those experiencing difficulties in their cultivation.
